Brief description of Birgit Luxenburger´s work:

Birgit Luxenburger´s works explore seeing. They address the ways in which seeing is determined
and the laws by which it is guided.
They play on the fact that our perception is invariably fragmentary, and that we are able to perceive
only individual aspects which themselves are altered from situation to situation.
In simple terms one can say that each of Birgit Luxemburgers pictures, whether paintings or new
photos, exist side-by-side equally in parallel spatial areas. Althrough the laws of colour perspective
apply, they are used so cleverly as if the inner spatial areas extend inwards. Then the perspective
reverses as if the works curve outwards towards the viewer.
